Today we will start with the Basics, with the foundation of what is Neurographica and why does it work the way it does.
For the past few weeks, I have been asked this question by numerous people writing to me in private messaging as well as I see an increase of interest in this wonderful method from people of various backgrounds and various levels of knowledge about neurographica.
I also have been approached to talk for different coaching and psychological-based podcasts and started to think about how do I explain what NG is.
And I started to think how do I explain what it is to people who never heard of it never saw the drawings don't understand what it is or how it is done. Something in coaching we call the cold clients - people who have never dealt with this method ever before.
So how do I explain to them what is NG?
How do I explain how this can affect the way people approach setting a goal, the way people can improve their mood, the way people can therapeutically increase their positive outlook on life. and the way people can feel by becoming an actual artist even if they don't have any art background.
How do I explain the effect that this method has on self-esteem, positive thinking, positive psychology conflict resolution, and reaching one goal one's goal?
How do I explain that this method for the past 2 years has been developing as a scientific method fully going by all rules and laws of a scientific society? A number of PHDs and PsyDs have been developed and dissertations are in the process of writing and had been written at least three times already from my knowledge and currently, in process, there are approximately 15 to 20 people who are actively working on writing a dissertation and bringing it in front of a professional psychological association.
In order to explain everything to you I would like to introduce myself and to tell you a bit about my qualifications.
I am a Certified Neurographica Instructor and Coach of the 2018 cohort.
I have been drawing Neurographica since 2017 and in 2018 I underwent a nine-month intensive training during which I also attended the live intensive in St Petersburg Russia where I personally met the author and creator of the method Pavel Piskarev, and had the privilege of drawing and learning live with him.
Previous to that my background consists of degrees and professional practice in special education, early childhood, and psychology.
I have over 20 years of working with children and diagnosing children for developmental delays, working with children to decrease their developmental delays and to increase their intellectual and emotional abilities, as well as the development and integration of life skills.
I have developed my own unique method of increasing analytical skills within children in preparation for the gifted and talented program within New York City public schoolsI have developed my own unique method of developing reading ability within children Based upon Orton-Gillingham's method.
When at the beginning of 2017 I discovered this wonderful method I was amazed at the simplicity of the method and how there were few steps.
Now back then this method was available within a handful of open YouTube videos by people who heard about the method but were not certified instructors and the videos of the founder himself where he presents the message and even explains how to draw it.
Later on, this situation has changed, and already at the end of 2018, there were about 50 or so open videos explaining how to draw this method in an appropriate way led by actual instructors that I personally met while being in the program or even led by my colleagues people who were with me at the training at that time.
When I started the training in 2018 my first and foremost goal was to start bringing this method to the English speaking audience since this is the country where I live - I live in the USA and this is the language that I mostly converse with, (even though my children will tell you otherwise because with them I mostly speak Russian since I want them to be proficient in many languages))
I want to know that the way I see open YouTube videos on this method it's similar to the way it was at the beginning of 2018 when the videos in the Russian language were made by amateurs who either did not professionally or even proficiently learn the method even at the basics level, yet they open up videos and make videos on how to draw, how to practice this method and giving a lot of misinformation.
My goal for a series of my open Live sessions is to bring you an informed and professional knowledge about Neurographica that you can gain within an open format and of course to give you an understanding of what type of information do we teach in closed courses such as the Basics course, (which is actually starting tomorrow,) and the Specialist course which is geared toward the professional proficiency and getting the rights to bring this method and to practice this method professionally with others.
So let's discuss what is NG and what can we do with it, how we can utilize it, how useful it is within one's life - within my life, within your life; and why do you need it. Why did I need it? Why am I spending 5 years learning it constantly and constantly developing further within my professional development and using it with my clients and with my students, and most importantly why was it my yearning from 5 years ago to start to become so proficient in this method that I want to teach it to English speaking audience?
Why did I think it would benefit my community - the community of English-speaking professionals - therapists, psychologists, coaches, educators? And is it only accessible to professionals or can anybody become proficient in this method?
When I initially came across this method on YouTube my major goal was to see what type of therapeutic art methods I can use to alleviate certain issues, certain emotional and intellectual difficulties I was having with dealing with certain ways I approach and have situations in my life and certain people that I meet in my life and dealing with social-emotional situations.
When I saw this method, I still remember this video - it was a 7-minute video that discussed that neurographica is a graphical therapeutic art method that allows any person to deal with a stressful situation within their life and to transform it in an effective way.
Later on, I found out that this was done by a certified instructor she's actually a colleague of mine, she graduated a year before me, the cohort of 2017, and she made this video as an introductory video to the method.
That video made my day. I watched that video probably 20 times in slow-motion since the video very quickly tells you all the seven steps and I remember writing them down and going through it and then I started reading more about the method and began finding out about the founder and started watching all the videos made by Pavel Piskarev.
I was mesmerized by the method - his teachings, by his lectures on analytical psychology, on analytical coaching, on the teachings of Jung, that he used as a basis for this method.
I would draw it every single day.
Nowadays when I look at my pictures I see so many mistakes and inappropriate ways of drawing and I actually recently found a few of my drawings my first thought was I need to throw this away immediately! I wanted to delete all of these pictures and then I remembered that my colleague shared the pictures on her profile and explained that it is okay to have these kinds of pictures. If you are a newbie if you are just starting in the method and how important it is to learn the methods thoroughly, to learn how to do this in an appropriate manner, to learn how to draw according to the seven steps of the algorithm, to learn how to round out correctly, and to learn how to bring the field lines and the affixing shape.
And yes it is okay to have trials and errors because this is a part of learning.
And when we start learning this method it's similar to a baby learning to first turn to the sides, then roll over, then crawl, and only then through many trials and errors, through falling on their cute tushies, they will eventually learn to walk and again at first it will be a wobbly duck style walk then it becomes more and more supported and more balanced and then at one point you discovered that the child has learned how to leap, how to jump, and how to run.
And this is what we learn in the Basics course - it will give you the support, will give you the necessary knowledge, and most importantly lots of necessary practice in order for you to learn how to walk in a balanced and supported way. And you learn to first walk in Neurographica, then you learn how to jump and leap, and then of course run. And those allegories work when you start taking further courses and start learning what each step of the course is.
And also during the Basics course, we start learning a deeper understanding of how NG works and how we can start utilizing it in an efficient manner to bring transformation and necessary assistance that we need within certain areas of our life such as when feeling stress, discomfort, or seeking to bring relief within relationships or at work.
I want to tell from my personal experience when my clients ask me and say what do I do in this case or when my students tell me I'm experiencing a certain issue how do I deal with it, it's very important that to them I can just explain the algorithm (which means the certain way you can use the method), and the fact that you already know the seven steps, you know the basic understanding, you know the basic sequence of what can be done and what cannot be done and you just take that information and you use it in an appropriate manner. This means that I can tell them to draw the shape and then your goal is to bring this and that shape or elements within your drawing, then I can give them some explanation of how to draw a certain algorithm to bring alleviation to whatever issue they're facing.
And in that case, this method is indispensable it's a great way to do self-coaching and this is the best part, this is the best benefit of learning to use the method at a basic level.
Once you learn this method once you understand how the method works once you understand how the steps work and what I mean by that is not just listening to the lectures, I mean, I did the open sessions where I explain each step of the algorithm openly, but what would you during the course is an actual practice of each step. It is the actual practice of how do you utilize the 7 steps within the drawing and once you do this and then the next step you practice and you practice and you practice and you practice, then you will gain the most effective way you will have the knowledge of the most effective method of dealing with any situation in an effective and transformational way.
This is truly a great way to break one of the ongoing side effects of therapy where the client becomes fully dependable upon the therapist and we all hear the stories where therapists are constantly bombarded by messages (in the beginning it used to be voicemails, nowadays texts) from clients, who send them constant messages where they talk about some issue that remind them, or brings the trauma and distress back into their life
Again this brings up a big side effect of therapy where dependency is serious issue in a therapist-client relationship and more over so many instances where this relationship goes on and on and on a lot of times for years without any huge or any “visible improvement”
Now don't take me wrong I'm all pro therapeutic relationships like I mentioned my background is psychology and I constantly take various workshops and courses to constantly increase my knowledge in the field and that's why I said “without visible improvement” because there are a lot of times improvements on an unconscious/subconscious level and we may not be able to see it openly or readily but of course, there are improvements. The method of Neurographica - it is important to note is a coaching method which means it focuses on both short-term and long-term goals.
The coaching method is where we focus on the goal and yes there is a therapeutic effect within the method but most and foremost we focused on the goal at hand and that's the premise of the coaching field.
So once you learn this method at the Basics level you can start practicing it and bring any type of short-term transformations to your life improve your mood, release the stress, improve the relationships, and of course, you can focus on reaching your long-term goals such as buying a house building, opening a new business, and advancing within your career.
Those premises and goals can be reached within Case studies, that is something we learn in detail during the Specialist course which is a professional continuation and the next step within the Neurographica method learning.
The Specialist is great within the fact that even though the Basics level is great like I said for short-term goals, often when we meet up with something that's beyond helping oneself and those in the helping professionals know what I'm talking about when you use the methods for yourself, then you realize that there is a blind spot that you cannot see and that's when you need the help of your colleague. We all know the best way a psychologist works is when they have their own psychologist when they constantly work on honing their own transformations, not just their own skills and knowledge, but also when they constantly work on transforming themselves and thus being open and optimal in being able to bring transformation to their clients and students.
So yes there are sometimes blind spots when you keep drawing and you keep working on something and then you feel like you are going in the loop and, when you go to a colleague and you can work with each other and you can help each other go through that loop, you know moving through getting out of the loop, but that's on the advanced level that's when you can become a specialist and learn ways to bring coaching or to combine the method of Neurographica with your professional knowledge.
The important thing to remember is that you can go through the loop, but once you come out of the loop, once you work through that loop you can come back and again continue your self-coaching. So the best part about learning this method is like I said before, getting out of this dependency within the client-therapist relationship and learning how to take control, learning how to bring transformation to yourself, and you can imagine how that will bring a certain sense of self-value, certain increase within the self-esteem of the person once they learn that they can figure things out on their own, solve their own issues and basically bring their own transformation.
And that is truly a phenomenal step within the way we view the field of psychology where it's usually quite conservative where the client-therapist relationship is very sacred but yet it also stays somewhat immobile somewhat stalled.
I want to tell you a bit about the background of the founders so you understand the roots in psychology and coaching. Pavel Piskarev, PsyD, PHD is a professional psychologist and coach with extensive experience in the coaching field - over 30 years. He is also a Master of Reiki, and holds a high-level belt in eastern types of sports training. Pavel’s first professional degree was in architecture (hence the Graphica side of the method). Pavel has developed many other original philosophical and practical applications and methods within the coaching and psychological fields - the Pyramid of Development, The Metamodern Quadrants, BoGoBan, etc.
The method of Neurographica was created 7.5 years ago, in April 2014.
In 2018 I started to bring this method to the English speaking audience by creating the first-ever English introduction to the method - it was a 2-hour video in which I give you the introduction to the founder, I show how to draw neurolines, I demonstrate how to do the rounding and I bring a simple way of drawing Neurographica.
In 2019 after I graduated from the course I started to teach NG in English (in Russian I conducted weekly offline, Live sessions in new York). At first, I started to give the Basics course in the version of the recording only. In 2020 I started giving Live sessions.
And the best part is that whoever signed up for any of my courses they have the right to come to any live session they want to, as many times as they want to, and (that's the best part) I have students coming back and watching different cohorts because I bring the same knowledge in different ways, in different manners, in different approaches every single cohort; and it gives a whole different approach to learning the method.
So what is it about the basics course that makes it such an indispensable way and such a great method to learn for anybody to bring into their life and to start using it as an anti-stress and reaching any goal in life technique?
There are four algorithms within the Basics course:
And 2 more Express variations of ARL
(I will actually go through each algorithm separately within my Open Live sessions this and next week in March 2022.)
Once you take the course you become proficient in these four types of drawing and again it is not just about knowing, you can find the knowledge in all of my open live videos where I bring you a lot of information about what Neurographica is, but rather during the course will bring lots and lots of practice, and lots and lots of answering questions, explanations, hands-on showing of techniques and the actual using of the method. And that is as they say in popular commercial - that is priceless!
And that is why I bring this option of Life sessions, even though I can just give the recordings and, by the way, in all my courses you get the recordings of all of the cohorts. Like I said before you can watch it over and over again, and understand different approaches and different knowledge. I especially recommend this to people who are planning to become specialists as this is indispensable to your pool of knowledge, as you will be bringing this method to your clients and within your professional field.
And once you become proficient in these 4 algorithms you can use them indefinitely and limitlessly within your life for any topic.
Taking the Basics certification will also give you the rights and the opportunity to attend many advanced courses, taking other modules such as Neurocolor, and Neurocomposition, (I will actually go into each one of the algorithms one by one, within the next few weeks’ Live sessions to explain to you what each module is about, so you can make an educated choice on whether you want to take this module, and which purpose it would serve for you).
The main thing to remember is that the Basics course is great for self-coaching - the amount of information and practice you receive is giving you the proficiency to work with yourself.
it does not give you enough knowledge, information, and practice to be proficient to bring this method to others.
Now of course you can talk about the method and share your drawings, but like I mentioned before it doesn't give you enough skills and enough knowledge to professionally teach or explain how this method works to people around you. In order to do that you would have to take the Specialist course.
The Basics course also includes an array of other knowledge that you integrate within your practice that you really should, it is highly advisable for you to fully watch in order to improve your practice, in order for you to better understand the way the method works.
The first and foremost is the indispensable Pyramid of Consciousness.
Within this pyramid we start discussing how we can enter our consciousness on a different level first we enter the active and operational consciousness - an allegory to that would be a bottle of water that I have within my reach if I want to drink, however, if I want to drink hot tea I would have to get up and walk to the kitchen and that is my subconscious where it takes effort to go into and to find what I need and when I need it and often it is quite a challenge to do so
The pyramid shows how the method is an effective way to go within your conscious and subconscious mind and bring much-needed transformation to your life.
Learn all the seven levels. Learn how it relates to the method of Neurographica. Learn how it brings the method to you and to who You are. (links to Pyramid videos)
On Thursday, March 3 at 9 am EST, I will bring an open Live session on the seven levels of the pyramid and this time I will be bringing it together with the eight official modules within the Neurographica method. These modules are separate courses that bring a further and deeper knowledge of the method itself and bring you to a more advanced level of practicing the Neuorgraphica method.
The Advanced Module Courses can be bought separately and currently, I'm having a huge sale on the bundle - if you decide to buy all the classes together there's a huge discount of over $400. Details on my website neurographica-coaching.com and lanashalom.com.
So here is a conclusion on what makes Neurographica such a great transformational method and most importantly, why it is currently the fastest-growing method within the English speaking audience and the reason why it's becoming so immensely popular because it is easy to use, it is very powerful and effective, and it is a great way to bring those transformations and those goals you seek in your life to reality.
Welcome to join the Neurographica Basics scores, we are starting tomorrow, March 2 @11 p.m. EST. This course is available in both the recordings and via Live session meetings on Zoom.
At the end of the course, you will receive your Certification upon presenting 4 drawings, 1 per each of the algorithms that we learn during the course.
Plus during this cohort, we are offering a special deal - for those of you who want to register for the option with a bonus course, the bonus course for this cohort is NeuroMiracles. (link to the open intro session).
